How ME works, from enrollment and security to devices, connections and public identity.
Enrollment
Enroll to create an ME account on this device with one action. Add security, recovery or identity only when they become useful.
Continuity
A new Temporary account expires after 24 hours unless you preserve it. Recovery or another linked device removes that expiry.
Account type
ME presents account levels as Temporary, Basic, Secured and ID. Connected Properties receive the account level, not your private security setup.
Log in
Use an email link or password when needed. A recognized device avoids unnecessary account-identification steps.
Add and verify email addresses independently. A verified email can support login, recovery and security checks.
Password
Add, change or remove a password. Lost password uses a one-time email link when a verified email is available.
PIN
A four-digit PIN can confirm sensitive changes. Recent confirmation suppresses repeated security prompts.
Security
When a fresh check is reasonable, confirm with PIN, password, email or another account device. Ordinary use stays uninterrupted.
Recovery
Recovery Phrase and verified email can restore access when ordinary login is unavailable. Keep the Recovery Phrase private.
Link-up
Link another device to the same account. Primary approves new arrivals; Trusted devices may initiate Link-up.
Devices
Every active account has one Primary device. Primary controls Trusted status; if Primary leaves, ME promotes the oldest eligible device.
Properties
Properties are websites and services registered to use ME. Classic Properties use login and permissions; Node Properties use pre-arranged attestation.
Node attestation
A Node is a Property allowed to ask ME for silent confirmation of its controller account or short-lived proof of another Node. ME attests identity; the Node decides what that identity may do.
Connections
Connections are Classic Property relationships you have accepted. Each can be reviewed or disconnected independently.
Permissions
See what connected Properties can access and withdraw access from one place.
Activity history
Review account and security history, including the device associated with each recorded event.
Handles
Choose a public @handle for your ME account. Short handles require approval; renamed handles stay reserved before eventual release.
Profile
Choose the public name, image, language and Links shown on your handle page. Private choices remain private.
Links
Add approved social, creator, developer, store and service links. Websites require domain proof and administrator approval.
Reports
Public handle pages can be reported with one action. Administrators review the accumulated report count.
Notifications
Choose account, connection and security notifications. Browser permission controls Push; email can provide delayed fallback where appropriate.
Theme
Dark is default. Light is an explicit preference using the same ME visual system.
Deletion
Unrecoverable accounts delete immediately when the last device leaves. Recoverable accounts can be restored for seven days.
Export Planned
Download a portable account export.
Administration
The first enrolled account is Administrator. Utility provides operational health, account, device, Property, connection, report and delivery administration.
Privacy
Security methods, recovery details, device topology and internal decisions stay private to ME.
Passkey Planned
Use a device passkey as an account access method.
Phone Planned
Use a phone method when you choose to add one.
Authenticator Planned
Use an authenticator as an account access method.
Organization Planned
Let an ME account represent or act for an organization after authority is established.
